Doubling

-

Doubling can be done in two ways: the first is double tracking or stacking – recording the same instrument multiple times to make it sound like more people are playing at once which results in a fuller sound. The second is through a doubler plugin, which works similar to a delay by replicating the incoming signal multiple times, but on a much shorter time base. The result of using a plugin falls between sounding like a chorus and a delay.
