Mixing-Basics-Strip_1Phaser sounds very similar to Flanger but is created in a different way. A phaser splits the signal and sends one signal to be processed with a sweeping notch filter. The phase shift created by the notch filter in addition to it moving is what creates the great phasing effect. Phaser is most often used with guitar, usually with guitar pedals, but it can also be done in the studio.
